Allahabad Kumbh Mela 2025

Kumbh Mela Prayagraj Location

Kumbh Mela Prayagraj Location

Constructed in 1583, the breathtaking Prayagraj Fort stands at the foot of Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, serving as a reminder to visitors of the city's rich past. The fort is roughly 30,000 square feet in size and is situated near Triveni Sangam on the Yamuna River. The fort took twenty thousand laborers and forty-five years to build, according to historian Abul Fazal.

Because of the fort's special strategic significance, the Indian Army has held possession of it up to this point. Akbar, a well-known Mughal Emperor, is reported to have been impressed by the atmosphere of Prayagraj (previous Allahabad). He therefore made the decision to construct a large fort there. The local Hindus revere the Akshayavat tree, which is why this fort was constructed to guard it.

The Prayagraj fort is open to visitors and has been declared a National Monument by the Archaeological Survey of India. Unfortunately, travelers may only access a small portion of the fort.

Only inside the fort are the sites of Akshayvat, Patalpuri Temple, Saraswati Koop, and Ashoka Pillar accessible to the public; the remainder of the region is solely used by the armed forces. The fort's exteriors, which have prominent designs and inscriptions in some places, showcase the magnificence of Mughal construction.

Being one of the top tourist destinations in Prayagraj, the fort's magnificence should not be missed by visitors.

Prayagraj Fort is located at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh 211005.

Hours of Operation: 9:55 AM to 7 PM.

Excellent plans were made to ensure a comfortable stay during the Kumbh Mela. Over 24 crore people visited during this time. It didn't appear to have been made momentarily on the riverbank, which dries out at this time of year.

Even though it was my first journey to the Kumbh Mela, I thought I had arrived sooner. I was met by Go Global Trip employees at the train station, after which I was taken to the camp. I received unique treatment as a guest. My tour was made unforgettable by them all. Fantastic services.

I'm sitting outside Go Global Trip's tent writing this review. It's a clean tent. The charming restrooms have a woman assigned to clean the room and restroom twice a day. The temporary café located within the tent area serves good and basic food. They go under the name of Bharat Seva Shivir. We had to pay 200 Rs for the transportation to the ghat, which is quite far away. People are present for the Kumbh, in any case. The Kumbh is a truly amazing event. It's remarkable how smoothly everything operates here. We prayed to our ancestors and took our plunge at the Triveni Sangham yesterday. I'll sign off for the time being.
