Dehradun is easily accessible by car, having excellent connections to all major road transit hubs. From Delhi's ISBT Kashmiri Gate, buses to Dehradun, both regular and luxury, are readily accessible. There are buses and taxis that go from major Uttarakhand state destinations to Dehradun. Dehradun is more easily accessible because to its connection to National Highway 72.
By Air:

By Rail :

The two main trains that connect Dehradun to important Indian towns like Amritsar, Howrah, Bombay, Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, etc. are the Shatabdi Express and the Mussoorie Express.

Terms and Conditions - 2023 General Information for Scheduled Package Tours
1. Before the tour begins, travelers or pilgrims who have a reservation on any of the package tours are asked to fill out the Guest Registration Form.
2. Travelers and pilgrims who have reservations for the package tours listed below are asked to meet at the following TRHs, where pre-accommodation fees are already included in the ticket, one day prior to the start of the tour.-.
a) For Tours No. 1 (occurs every Monday), No. 4 (occurs every Wednesday and Saturday), and No. 12 (occurs every Monday):
- To report to the Bharat Bhoomi Tourist Complex, Haridwar Bye Pass Road, Rishikesh, one day prior to departure.
b) Regarding Tours Nos. 8 (every Sunday), Nos. 10 (every Saturday & Monday), Nos. 13 (every Sunday), and Nos. 14 (every Thursday):
- at report at the Ganga Resort Tourist Complex, Shishamjhari, Muni-ki-Reti, Rishikesh, one day prior to departure.
c) Every Thursday for Tour No. 2, Mondays for Tour No. 03, Sundays for Tour No. 6, Saturdays for Tour No. 09, and Fridays for Tour No. 11:
- To report to Hotel Alaknanda, Haridwar, one day prior to departure;
d) For Tuesdays on Tour No. 5 and Wednesdays on Tour No. 7:
- at report at the Hotel Drona in Dehradun one day prior to departure.
3. People who are older than three years old and less than twelve years old will be given special treatment and a separate seat.
4. For Bus Package Tours, seats are strictly assigned on a "First Come – First Serve" basis. Should a seat be canceled, the next reserved seat will take its place automatically.
5. With a few exceptions, GMVN's Tourist Rest Houses serve reasonably priced vegetarian meals; however, the same service is easily accessible at the neighborhood market. At every location, the Pilgrims and Tourists will be required to pay for their meals individually.
6. Since it is strictly forbidden to carry such materials in tourist vehicles, pilgrims and visitors are recommended not to bring cooking gas cylinders or other combustible items.
7. According to the program, some of the Treks entail a constant climb with slow but high grades through deep forests, up valleys, and past towering waterfalls. While walking on these treks is a remarkable and pleasurable experience, it may be too difficult for the elderly or young. At an additional cost (to be covered by the tourist(s)), Dandies (local Palanquin) and horses are offered for those who find the path too arduous or tough to walk.
8. To meet the needs of visitors, Yatra Office also plans specialized package trips, such as yoga packages, white-water river rafting, trekking, local excursions, and wildlife safari tours.
9. No meals are included on any package tour. The tourists/pilgrims will pay and settle for all meals, horses, dandies, ropeway fees, Heli services fees, and other charges as they arise on the spot.
10. When making a reservation for a Gaumukh tour, pilgrims or tourists scheduled on Tour No. 7 are asked to email their identification certificate (Adhar card) to the Yatra Office or Booking Office.
11. Pilgrims and tourists who have a reservation for Tour No. 7 must pay the Gaumukh entrance fee at the DFO Office in Uttarkashi or the Gangotri forest checkpost.
12. Pilgrims and tourists scheduled on Tour No. 12 must pay the Valley of Flowers entrance charge at the Ghangaria forest checkpoint.
13. 2:00 PM check-in time Check out time 11.00 AM (Apart from Kedarnath and Badrinath)
14. Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham, GMVN TRHs Check-in time is 2:00 p.m. Time of check-out: 10:00 AM (Purchased at 9.00 PM)
15. Visitors to Rudra Meditation Cave should arrive at Kedarnath Swargarohini Cottage no later than 4:00 PM.
16. If the Distt. Administration occupies any GMVN TRHs for any reason, alternative lodging will be arranged in nearby hotels, guest houses, or private lodges, among other locations.
17. Please visit the Uttarakhand Tourism website to register for the Char Dham Yatra, Valley of Flowers, and Hemkund Sahib, as required by government regulations.
Note: The meal recommendations in each trip program are solely for the time slots specified in the agenda.
Transport 1. GMVN will arrange transportation for the scheduled package tours using (2 X 2) 27-seat non-air conditioning coaches, 12-seat non-air conditioning Tempo travelers, Innova, and non-air conditioning taxis, among other vehicles.
2. Package tours are scheduled based on the minimum number of seats that are available, as stated below:
- 27-seater non-airconditioned bus (2X2): minimum of 17 seats
The Tempo Traveller (2x1) is not air-conditioned and has a minimum of 8 seats.
A.C. Innova: 4 seats required (minimum)
- Non-AC Cab: Two Seats
3. Should there be insufficient reservations, the excursion could be canceled or rescheduled. In such cases, the tourist's choice will determine whether their money is returned or put toward the next tour that is offered.
4. Local Palanquin carriers known as "ponies," "porters," and "dandies" (four men) can be obtained at the following motor heads (by appointment only, and on a spot payment basis):
Jankichatti: Yamunotri (one-way walk of five kilometers)
- Gangotri: Gaumukh (18 km one way walk) and Bhojwasa (14 km one way)
- Kedarnath (17 km one way walk from Gaurikund)/(22 km one way trek from Soneprayag) at Gaurikund/Sonpryag
– Govindghat: Ghangaria (one-way 14-kilometer trek)
- Ghangaria: Hemkund (20 km one way)/Valley of Flowers (18 km one way)
5. Should there be less than seven seats reserved for the bus tour, the ticket price will be reimbursed, or the tourists may agree to an alternative tour. GMVN retains the right to substitute an appropriate vehicle based on the quantity of visitors. The same trip may be scheduled using a light vehicle in which case the guide fees will be combined with the transport head and no guide services will be rendered.
6. In order to meet their basic needs, travelers are encouraged to pack a flashlight, a raincoat, thick wool clothing, and medication as prescribed by their physician.
L.T.C. Establishment 1. L.T.C. facility will apply exclusively in Transport head.
2. Only when the tour is over will pilgrims and tourists who use the L.T.C. facility receive a proper travel certificate against the amount of the transportation costs.
Discount for Senior Citizens
1. Senior citizens, males over 60 and females over 55, are eligible for a 15% discount on transportation costs only when they book a scheduled package tour.
2. To use the facilities, guests must present their proof of age prior to the start of the trip.
3. At the time of booking, a person may present picture identification (such as an Adhar card, passport, driver's license, voter card, etc.) as proof of identity.
4. During the trip, the guest is required to have an authenticated copy of their age verification document, certified by the booking coordinator.
Lodging for Scheduled Package Tours: The following types of lodging are offered for Scheduled Package Tours:
1. Accommodation type for various tours:
Travelers on Tours Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, & 12 (by Non-AC Bus) and No. 5 (by Non-AC Tempo Traveller) will find twin-sharing accommodations with attached bathrooms. The Kedarnath Nandi Tourist Complex Base Camp offers bunk-bed dormitory accommodations for Tours Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Tour No. 12, which involves spending three nights in Ghangaria, will provide accommodations with attached bathrooms at private lodges or hotels.
- Tours Nos. 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11 (by AC Innova) and Nos. 13 & 14 (by Non AC Cab): Twin-sharing accommodations with adjoining bathrooms will be offered. For Tours Nos. 8, 9, 10, and 11: Kedarnath Swargarohini Complex offers family room accommodations. The Kedarnath Swargarohini Complex offers bunk-bedded dormitory accommodations for Tour Nos. 13, 14, and 6. For Tour No. 7: Bhojwasa offers dormitory accommodations.
2. At Gaurikund, Hanumanchatti, Sayanachatti, Phoolchatti, Jankichatti, Gangotri, and other final motor head & base of Kedarnath/Bhojwasa & Yamunotri hike en route, cloak room facilities are available on a fee basis.
3. When returning from the tour, travelers and pilgrims must arrange for their own overnight accommodations in Haridwar or Rishikesh. However, guests can pay for their accommodations in advance at the Hotel Alaknanda Haridwar and/or the GMVN Tourist House in Rishikesh (Muni-Ki-Reti/Bharat Bhoomi/Ganga Resort).
4. If all available accommodations for GMVN are booked, backup plans will be developed at hotels, guest homes, and private lodges in Badrinath and other locations.
5. A request for an amount adjustment made by a guest who checks in somewhere else instead than at the designated location will not be honored.
6. 2:00 p.m. check-in time 11:00 AM is the check-out time (save for Kedarnath and Badrinath).
7. Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham, GMVN TRHs Check-in time is 2:00 p.m. Time of check-out: 10:00 AM (Purchased at 9.00 PM)
8. Visitors to Rudra Meditation Cave should arrive at Kedarnath Swargarohini Cottage no later than 4:00 PM.
9. In any instance if GMVN TRHs has been occupied by Distt. Administration for any cause, substitute accommodation arrangements will be made in private lodges/guest houses/hotels at near bye TRH's & other areas.
10. All travelers are asked to register on the Uttarakhand Tourism website for the Char Dham Yatra, Valley of Flowers, and Hemkund Sahib, as required by government regulations.
Deposit Policy 1. Upon receipt of full advance payment for the cost of the tickets, the reservation will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
2. The advance can be started with a bank draft made payable to Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Ltd. and made payable at the PRO Office in Rishikesh. It can also be started with cash payments made at the office cash counter or M.D. GMVN Ltd. Central A/C No.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
When a cancellation request is received by email or in person at the relevant booking offices, it will be taken into consideration under the following conditions.
15% off for cancellations made 15 days or more in advance, plus 18% GST.
20% reduction plus 18% GST for cancellations made between 14 and 8 days in advance.
Seven to three days' notice of cancellation: 40% reduction plus 18% GST.
Less than two days' notice of cancellation: 90% deduction plus 18% GST
Moreover, any demand for a full or partial reimbursement of money in the event that the pilgrim or tourist leaves the tour midway for personal reasons will not be considered entertainment.
2. Original cash receipt must be shown for the refund to be processed, and the entire cost of the ticket will be subtracted for cancellation fees. For instance, cancellation fees on the whole ticket price will apply if a traveler cancels a seat after paying 50% of the total ahead of time.
3. Should a scheduled tour or additional tour be canceled due to natural disasters beyond GMVN's control, there will be no reimbursement.
4. The relevant booking office where deposits were made for the package trip reservation shall repay to the tourist or pilgrims the full amount, or any portion thereof, duly sanctioned for refund.
5. A request for an adjustment or refund of the booking cost will not be honored if the guest arrives somewhere else instead of checking in at the designated location.
6. If a request for a seat postponement is made at least 48 hours before the scheduled package tour begins, it may be approved.
7. A seat may be postponed for free once for a valid reason to the following tour date. A 20% additional fee will be charged as a tariff service charge in the event of a second postponement.
Change of Station/Destination
Location/Station Change requests for a current reservation or tour are subject to availability and are governed by the following guidelines:
20% of the cost of newly available accommodations is the service charge.
Total amount due: New tariff plus (+) service fees at 20% of the new tariff plus (+) applicable GST deducted from the previous tariff.
If the sum computed under point number (b) is negative because of a lower tariff of newly available accommodations, the visitor or guests will not be eligible for a reimbursement.
Conditions & Terms
Without giving notice, the Management maintains the right to modify the tariff at any time.
During the tour, it is the responsibility of the tourists to make sure that their valuables and possessions are protected. GMVN disclaims all liability for any loss, damage, or misplacement.
Visitors are asked to respect local customs and feelings, as well as the home rules.
Any loss, delay, cancellation, or other events beyond GMVN's control, such as a natural disaster, shall not be held against the organization.
In the event that When parties and GMVN personnel cannot agree, the Managing Director of GMVN will make the final decision, which will bind both parties. Within 30 days following the tour's conclusion, the pilgrims/tourists and GMVN shall submit any disagreements, claims, or legal actions to the court in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Beyond this, GMVN will not be held accountable for any allegations.
If a trip is disrupted by natural disasters or other unanticipated events while traveling, other arrangements will be made to get pilgrims and tourists to the next location in accordance with the itinerary using locally accessible transportation.
The management reserves the right to add to, modify, or revise the aforementioned terms and conditions at any time and without previous notice.
In any instance where GMVN deducts any money as deductible or service costs, additional charges will be made for GST and any other applicable statutory taxes.
