1. Temple of Kedarnath
The majestic Kedarnath Temple is located in the Garhwal Himalayas at an elevation of 3600 meters. It is also one of Lord Shiva's twelve Jyotirlingas. One of the four locations of the Chota Chardham Yatra is Kedarnath. The most significant of the Panch Kedars Temples, Kedarnath Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams temples.
2. Temple of Badrinath
One of the temples of Chardham in India is the Badrinath Temple. It is located along the Alaknanda River's banks. This sacred village bears the name of the Badrinath temple, which is devoted to Lord Vishnu. This sacred shrine's allure has captured the hearts of many Hindu followers.
3. The Gangotri
One of the four Char Dhams' holiest sites is Gangotri, a small village centered on the Gangotri temple. It is the Ganga River's most significant temple.
The Ganga River originates at Gaumukh, which is located in the Gangotri glacier and is reachable after a quick 19-kilometer hike from Gangotri. Hindu mythology states that Gangotri is the location where the Ganga river dropped from above when Lord Shiva let the powerful river from his gorgeous locks.
4. Yamunotri Temple: This temple honors the goddess Yamuna. Situated in the Garhwal Himalayas is the Yamunotri Temple. Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River. Thus, one of the four Chota Chardham pilgrimage locations is Yamunotri Temple. The magnificent mountains, the captivating Surya Kund and Gouri Kund springs that shoot out cold and hot water, respectively.
5. Chopta
For hikers, Chopta, a stunning location in Uttarakhand, is paradise. For intermediate trekkers looking to take a guided trek and hone their skills, the base camp of popular treks such as Tugnanath, Deoria Tal, and Chandrashila, Chopta, is an excellent choice. About 3.5 kilometers from Chopta, near Tugnanath, is where you will find the third Panch Kedar temple. You can only camp in Chopta and enjoy the broad, grassy meadows with gentle slopes, surrounded by pine, rhododendron, deodar, and alpine trees. The vista from Chopta is dominated by the snow-capped summits of Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Chaukhambha.
Itinerary
Day 1: 200 km / 07 hours of driving from Haridwar to Barkot
Greetings from Chopta of the One India Tourism Team and welcome to Chardham Yatra. A representative from One India Tourism meets and assists you when you arrive at the Haridwar Railway Station. You then travel via Mussoorie to Barkot, stopping along the way to see Kempty Falls. After arriving in Barkot, check into your accommodation and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Spend the night at Barkot.
Day 2: Yamunotri > Barkot (06 km of trekking and 42 km of driving)
Proceed to Jankichatti, the starting point of the Yamunotri trek. Once there, exit the car and begin the hike route up using a pony or doli (at your own expense) or by trekking. It is roughly six kilometers. Purchase Prasad from neighborhood stores as you get at Yamunotri, then take a holy plunge in the Yamuna River's (icy cold) spring or natural hot spring. Anyone can cook rice at a "Surya Kund" (hot spring), cover it with a muslin cloth, and bring the cooked rice (known as "Prasadam") home. Pooja can be presented to the legendary "Divya Shila." After receiving the blessings of Mata Yamuna, make your way to Jankichatti, from where our driver will return to Barkot for the night.
Day 3: 82 km/ 4 hours from Barkot to Uttarkashi
Early in the morning, we left for Uttarkashi. Once there, we checked into our hotel and slept before visiting the well-known Kashi Vishwanath temple. Spend the night in the hotel.
Day 04: 24 kilometers each way between Uttarkashi and Gangotri
Drive to Gangotri in the morning after breakfast, taking in the scenery as you go parallel to the Bhagirathi River's bank. After arriving in Gangotri, take a sacred dip in the frigid Bhagirathi River. Perform Hindu rites and Pooja along the river's edge. Next, go to Mata Ganga Darshan, where you can see Lord Shiva, Hanuman, Vinayka, and Bhagirath Maharaj Darshan. Finally, head back to Uttarkashi. Spend the night at Uttarkashi.
Day5: Drive from Uttarkashi to Guptkashi and Phata (about 223 kilometers, 9 hours)
Morning After leaving the hotel, proceed to Guptkashi or Phata by car. Check into the hotel upon arrival. After that, register to visit Kedarnath and spend the night at a hotel.
Day 6: Guptkashi/Phata > Kedarnath (around 18 km of hiking and 27 km of driving)
Check-out early in the morning and travel to Gaurikund/Phata (to begin the hike or to a helipad). From here, the journey to Kedarnath begins. By foot, helicopter, doli, or pony (own expense). Travelers should bring heavy clothing, personal medications, and other necessities. After completing the Darshan and Pooja of Shri Kedarnath ji, go back to Guptakashi/Phata. Spend the night in the hotel.
Day 7: Kedarnath > Guptkashi / Phata (about 19 km of hiking and 27 km of driving)
After breakfast in the morning, check out of the camp and return to Guptakashi or Phata from Kedarath. Enter the hotel and check in. Spend the night in the hotel.
Day 8: Drive from Guptkashi to Chopta (65 km, 1.3 hrs) Tunganath excursion
Start your journey to Chopta, a traveler's paradise for those who enjoy the outdoors and outdoor adventure, today. Now begin your ascent to one of the five Kedars, Tunganath (3680 m). It is a three-kilometer ascent. Along the way, you will pass through verdant meadows and get a full view of the Himalayan Chaukhamba Peak's snow-capped range. When you arrive at Tungnath Temple, offer prayers there. Spend the night at Guptakashi.
Day 9: Travel 185 km/6 hours from Guptkashi/Phata to Pandukeshwar/Badrinath.
After breakfast, check out in the morning and proceed to Badrinath. En route, stop at Joshimath (Narshimha Temple), Karanprayag, Nandprayag, and Vishnu Prayag. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Spend the evening at the Badrinath Temple and spend the night there.
Day 10: Rudraprayag / Srinagar > Badrinath
After taking a holy swim in Taptkund, visit a temple in the morning. Go through the vibrant temple gate to see Badrivishal's Darshan, which includes Ganesh, Kubera, Garuda, Narada, Udhhav, Nar, and Narayan. Inside the temple compound, you may also visit the smaller temples of Laxmimata, Nar-Narayana, Hanuman, Ghantakarn, and Kaamdhenu. In the side complex, "Charnamirt" (abhishekamjal) is available. Brahamakapal is a sacred place for Pinddam Shraddh of the ancestors (Pitrus), where rituals can be performed. Spend the night in the hotel.
Day 11: Haridwar > Srinagar > Rudraprayag
Returning to Rishikesh in the morning. See the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi confluence in Devprayag while traveling. Visit the wonderful ashrams in Rishikesh, including the well-known Ram and Laxman Jhulas, Shivanand Ashram, Gita Bhavan, and Pramarth Niketan.
